BMW Longlife-04 engine oil was developed for the newer BMW engines from 2004 - for both diesel and petrol engines.
In contrast to the BMW Longlife-01 engine oil, which is only suitable for gasoline engines, the LL-04 oil is a low SAPS oil.
It is therefore designed for the special requirements for diesel engines with DPF (diesel particulate filters).
Gasoline engines that require LL-01 could also run an LL-04 oil.
New BMW diesel cars with DPF require Longlife-04 oil.
